Katie Johnson serves as an Advisor to Cavalry Strategies, based in the Washington, D.C area. She provides strategic counsel on policy, advocacy, and business development for clients, using her strong track record in campaigns, communications, government affairs, and stakeholder engagement. Katie works through her relationships with federal agencies and Congressional offices. She is a leader in transforming complex policy issues into clear, actionable messaging and building business development strategies for clients.

Most recently, Katie served in the Government Affairs division of the Investment Company Institute (ICI), where she helped promote public understanding of investment companies and advanced the interests of funds and their shareholders, directors, and advisers. In this role, Katie worked closely with industry executives and thought leaders, and key policymakers, building a powerful network across the business and regulatory landscape.

Katie previously served as a legislative aide to Representative Jeff Fortenberry and worked in the U.S. Senate campaign of Michael Steele. She also served at the Republican National Committee, the White House Office of Public Liaison, as well as the Office of Representative Richard Burr. Katie grew up in North Carolina and graduated from Davidson College with a major in Political Science. She currently resides in Annapolis, Maryland with her husband and two children.
