Meredith Ivey

Meredith Ivey serves as an Advisor to Cavalry Strategies and works with clients to shape narratives that drive policy outcomes, mobilize third-party allies, and effectively engage with the media. Meredith is a seasoned strategic communications and public affairs professional with more than 15 years of experience advising high-level government officials, political campaigns, and private sector clients across Florida and Washington, D.C.

Meredith most recently held a variety of leadership roles at FloridaCommerce, serving as the agency’s Chief of Staff, Acting Secretary, and Deputy Secretary of Community Development. In these roles, Meredith oversaw the implementation and coordination of high-stakes workforce, community, and business development projects across the state and played an integral role in disaster recovery efforts. Meredith previously served as Deputy Communications Director for Governor Ron DeSantis, Communications Director for the Republican Party of Florida, Communications Director for the Florida Department of State during the Governor Rick Scott administration, and External Affairs Director for the 2017/2018 Florida Constitution Revision Commission. Prior to her roles in Florida, Meredith served as a director at a DC-based public affairs firm and worked on Capitol Hill.

Meredith grew up in southern Maine and graduated from the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Mass. with a double major in Political Science and English where she also played Division I volleyball. She currently resides in Tallahassee with her husband and son.
